It seems that the Government have suggested to Leicester City Council that the the current lock down rules are extended for a further 2 weeks following a spike in new COVID cases in the City.

If implemented this will mean that the City’s pubs and restaurants will not be able to open this coming weekend.

Although the City Mayor seems resistant the Labour MP for Leicester East, Claudi Webbe, has said that she believes the lockdown should be extended.

Several pubs and restaurants are in an advanced stage of preparation to reopen and further delays will cause a great deal of frustration to both owners and customers.
